         THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS: 33 DAYS

Haven't updated this blog in awhile, what's happened inbetween: schoolies, working, christmas, NY, TER's and Uni offers.

schooolies- great time, perhaps the last time i'll spend with IGGS girls as a group *tear*

working- started working at Academic & General bookstore, already lost weight from the strenuos jobs!- by strenuous I mean dealing with uptight parentals over the phone.

Christmas- what can I say, it never lets me down. Had my aunty and cousin over, nice small reunion.

New Year's- Alexandra gardens, Fed square bollywood dancing and trying to piss of policeman on the bridge to the concert hall by walking against the crowd and the designated direction.

TER's- yeah successfully completed VCE with a score I'm satisfied with

uni offers- first round, offered my first preference, commerce @ Melbourne uni, just applied to defer it for a spot in the new generation commerce course as part of the 2008 Melbourne model.

Saying goodbye to family and friends come February 20th, just packing up slowly. I'll be at Nanjing university, prob staying in the international dormitory (2.5 hours by train from Shanghai). I'll keep this blog going for those back in Aus . Wishing everyone an awesome 2007! Zai Jian peng you men

          VCE  IS OVVVEEERRRR!!!

In the last couple of weeks life-changing crazy stuff has been overwhelming my life.

  1. I completed VCE! not sure how the results are, but who cares...high school's over! woot woot.
  2. Found out that I won a scholarship to study overseas for ONE FRIGGEN YEAR! Yeah crazy huh? And as much as I love my family and friends, I couldn't give up that opportunity to explore the world of Asia.. yaha China it is. Not sure which university yet because YDA/DFAT is still deciding between Qingdao, Tianjin, Nanjing, Shangdong and Zhe jiang but I'm hoping its Nanjing. WIll be living on uni campus with 14 other high school grads from Aus, luckily for me 3 of which i already know from previous trips and Katie from school!!!
  3. So as a lead on from my one year deferral of university in Melbourne, I shall begin university under the "Melbourne Model" @ Unimelb IF and a big IF i am accepted. But all is new and exciting.

Family has already acclimatised to my future departure, Drew's reserved my room for this hardcore technology and also my ooooober soft double loft bed. Sister prob won't notice i'm gone cos she's never home and of course my *asian* mother... sigh she has already begun worrying.-all those with asian mothers know the feeling.

Other than that no other big crazy news. Just been partying and sleeping since CHinese exam finished last thursday (Happy belated 18th birthday's to Coll and Cherise!) heading off for schoolies this thursday to Phillip Island, should be a blast.. and may go to lorne post schoolies to chill.

Adios ALL!! xo Caryn

Next Thursday- free unlimited crepes, rides and jumping castles..you get the point. Next

***SPRING BREAK HOLIDAYS HAVE BEGUN ***

So we've got 3 weeks off, 3 days have already flown past with plenty of study. Plans for "FUN DAY" previously known as Muck up day have been finalised, unfortunately plans to wreak havoc among the Ivanhoe Region has been smouldered by the very school rules that have restricted us since the day we started school. AUSTRALIA SAYS NO TO MUCK UP DAY, YES TO FUN DAY???rides, dj & unlimited crepes :P

Music review: JEM's "FLYING HIGH" from the album "Finally woken", 4.5 stars from me since it featured on the hit US series "Grey's Anatomy" and was incredibally moving, its pretty much upbeat and soulful like most of Jem's music, which also features "save me" "just a ride" and "Maybe I'm amazed" from many of The OC soundtracks.

MOVIE review: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"- firstly i didn't voluntarily choose to watch this movie, it was imposed upon myself and fellow classmates during a tute relaxation session, however i have to say this movie really hit home. It's basically about a teenage kid trying to wag school, now who hasn't connected with this feeling before? It turns out to be quite hilarious, Ferris his girlfriend and best mate -Alan Ruck (who btw his dashingly gorgeous, before i realised the film was made back in the 1970's, and the actor his now in his 50's- for those who know Alan he plays the father of new neighbours in cheaper by the dozen- go to www.imbd.com) But yeh not bad for an afternoon movie, it also stars the lead actress from "dirty dancing."

Next on the agenda, GERMAINE GREER goes on Caryn's "TO KILL LIST" This uncompassionate senseless writer has the nerve to publish her trumpery opinions of the late Steve Irwin. Not only are her opinions ignorantly premature but they are a disgrace! Steve Irwin is a widelife warrior, not the animal man-handler she claims him to be, how the hell do you man-handle a crocodile anyway? He never harmed them, everthing he did was for the conservation of wildlife, get that into your thick head Germaine!

Onto happier things, HAPPY 18th to Cassie, Chelsea and Winston, as well as Happy 17th to Esther!

*sorry for the unusually long blog, felt very expressive today. adios
